What We Believe

Mission Statement

Here at Holy Chapel of God, we are dedicated to spreading the word of Jesus Christ throughout the
Shepherdsville, KY area. All who attend our church are welcome with open arms. We want to share the same
the unconditional love that God has given to us through His mercy and grace. It is our utmost desire as a church to
teach, train, and impart the spiritual wisdom and understanding of our Lord, Jesus Christ, in an atmosphere of
unconditional love to all who attend Holy Chapel: To love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind
and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Articles of Faith

We believe that the inspired Scriptures are the Old and New Testaments, the infallible Word of God, and the only safe rule of faith and practice. (II Tim. 3:16-17, II Peter 1:21, Luke 1:70, Isaiah 8:20, Titus 1:2)

We believe that there is one true and living God, and in the Godhead: The Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The Godhead: (Matt. 28:19, Heb. 9:14) God, the Father: (Eph. 4:6, I Cor. 8:6, I Tim. 2:5) God, the Son: (John 1:1, 3:14, 3:16, 20:28) God, the Holy Ghost: (Matt. 1:18, Rom. 8:11, I Peter 3:18)

We believe that we are fallen and depraved humans and cannot save ourselves from our fallen situation by any ability we possess by nature. (Ps. 52:5, Rom. 3:10, 12, 5:12, I Cor. 2:14)

We believe the salvation, regeneration, sanctification, justification, and redemption are by the life, death, resurrection, ascension, and intercession of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Salvation: (Heb. 5:9, Rom. 10:10, Titus 1:4) Regeneration: (Titus 3:5, John 3:3, I Peter 1:23) Sanctification: (I Thes. 5:23, Heb. 9:14, I Cor. 1:2, 6:11) Justification: (II Cor. 5:21, Rom. 3:24, 4:25, 5:17) Redemption: (Gal. 3:13, 4:5, Rom. 3:24-25) Life and Death: (Rom. 5:10, John 1:4, 10:11) Resurrection: Matt. (22:28-29, Rom. 4:25, 8:11) Ascension: (Eph. 4:8, Acts 1:1-12) Intercession: (Acts 7:60, Rom. 8:34, Heb. 7:5)

We believe that God has adequately provided for man’s eternal salvation, but that the free moral agency of man is unimpaired by these provisions of grace so that it is possible for a child of God to turn away and be finally lost. (Heb. 5:9, Matt. 10:22)

We believe that the joys of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked shall be eternal. (Matt. 25:46, John 5:28, Rom. 3:23)

We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances of Jesus Christ, appointed in the church and that none but true believers are subjects, and that the only proper mode of baptism is immersion. Baptism: (Matt. 28:19 Acts 2:41, 47) Communion: (Matt. 26:26, Mark, 14:22, Luke 22:19)

We believe in the sanctity of the first day of the week or the Lord’s Day, and that it ought to be observed in public or private worship of God. (John 20:19, Acts 20:7, Mark 2:27)

We believe in the resurrection of the body, both of the just and of the unjust, but to every man in his own order, those who have been redeemed to the resurrection of life and to those who have done evil to the resurrection of damnation and that God hath appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness by Jesus Christ. (Acts 24:15, I Cor. 15:1, 15:16-17, 21, Matt. 25:32-34)

We believe that Jesus tasted death for every man and that none can partake of His divine benefits except by repentance toward God, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Heb. 11:6, Rom. 5:13, I Tim. 2:6)

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2, and the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit. (I Cor. 12:28, 30, I Tim. 4:14, Rom. 1:11)

We believe in the fivefold ministries in the church. (Eph. 4:7-11)
Apostles: (Acts 15:33, Eph. 2:20, II Cor. 8:23)
Prophets: (Acts 11:27, 13:1, II Peter 1:21)
Evangelists: (Acts 21:8, II Tim. 4:5)
Pastors: (Matt. 9:36, Mark 6:34, John 10:3-5)
Teachers: (Acts 13:1, I Cor. 12:28, Matt. 28:1)

We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the born-again believers. (I Thes. 4:16-17, I Cor. 15:51)

We believe in the millennium (thousand year reign). (Rev. 20:4, 16)

We believe in ordaining women as ministers, deaconesses, etc. (Rom. 16:1, Gal 3:28)

We believe in the anointing with oil. (James 5:14, Mark 6:13)

We believe in the laying on of hands and the gifts of healing. (Mark 16, James 5:14)
